Where are you from and a little background information about you?
Hi, I'm Susanna Jemma and I am originally from Italy. I have lived in five countries- Italy, Zambia, Papua New Guinea, Irian Jaya, and I now live with my husband and two beautiful children on the Sunshine Coast in QLD, Australia.
I have an Instagram page called @coastalhamptonstyle with nearly 300k followers and I share our recent build + beautiful homes on there. I feel really lucky to have the opportunity to share inspirational home content with everyone.
I also design 100% pure linen shirts that embody my own sense of fashion for others to enjoy. I truly love all that I do but my best time spent is quality time with my family. I find total bliss in my outdoor space where we spend our best time relaxing around a fire while our kids run around and catching up together while cooking pizza in our Authentic Pizza oven.
Which oven did you choose and why did you choose an Authentic Pizza Oven?
We have always dreamed of having an outdoor pizza oven! My husband is totally obsessed with Authentic Pizza Ovens, and the fact they also sell their ovens throughout Australia was a huge plus!
The oven was an easy choice to make. We chose the traditional Pizzaioli Pizza Oven. We liked the look and the simplicity of the oven. We make pizza as often as possible which I enjoy since I am an addict to pizza, especially the wood-fired real deal Italian pizza.
In true Australian fashion we like to spend as much time as possible and having our Authentic Pizza Oven lends itself to that lifestyle perfectly.
Did you build your setup or have someone else do it?
Wish we could say we built it! However, my husband works long days and I didn’t want to wait forever for him to build a base (haha!) So we ended up getting someone to build it. I gave them some photos for inspiration and made sure I had some bench space for prepping. We had extra outdoor floor tiles from our alfresco area so we ended up using those for our benchtop.
What is your favorite thing to cook in your oven, and have you tried any recipes besides pizza?
Well, it’s definitely Pizza! We love lighting up the oven and having a Pizza night with the family. There is nothing better than sitting around the warm oven and chatting the night away. Also, the pizza that comes out of the oven is absolutely amazing! We have tried to do a roast which came out lovely but we mainly tend to use it for pizza.
Italian Recipes by Susanna
Italian Pizza Dough
Dough: (makes around 6 Pizzas)
1 KG of Flour
3 teaspoons of dry yeast
3 teaspoons of sugar
1) 1st Dough- Mix all together & leave to rise for 2 hours.
150gm of Flour
3 teaspoons of dry yeast
3 teaspoons of sugar
125ml of Luke warm water
2) 2nd Dough- then Combine 1st dough and 2nd dough together.
850gm of flour
2 teaspoons of salt
500mls of Water
3) Let the combined dough rest for 1 hour in a container (put a little olive oil on the dough so it doesn't stick).
4) After 1-hour rest make 6 round balls of equal size and put the dough in the fridge overnight to rest (this is the secret to a great dough).
5) Once 24 hours have passed take the dough out of the fridge 1 hour before cooking and you are ready to make Pizza!

The secret to Italian Pizza is to keep the ingredients for your topping simple! Less is more.
Use quality ingredients for your tomato base like Mutti
